Objective
2010.01.05
It has been some 20 years since the issue of climate change (global warming)
has been on the international agenda. Despite that, in the past 2 decades, our
global and national production of
greenhouse gases has increased, rather than decreased. The primary source of the
man-made (anthropogenic) contribution to the increase comes from our burning of
fossil fuels. Much of that comes from the inefficient use of those precious
non-renewable resources in heat engines for transportation.
My personal resolution is to continue reducing my use of fossil fuels, and
specifically to reduce them by another 10% or more in 2010.
Polls tell me that the great majority of Canadians also believe that climate
change is a serious issue. Therefore, I propose to provide an information
resource via this site to help you find ways to reduce your greenhouse gas
emissions.
I expect that many of the methods I propose will actually allow
you to save money by reducing energy costs, and without reducing
quality of life.
If you're in, let's get started,
as 2010 already has.
